Joe Altomonte - Weekends + Sports Updates

Joe started at WIP in June of 1998 where he has been a weekend and fill-in sports anchor for going on 9 years.
Joe began as a full-time traffic, news, and sports reporter for Express/Shadow Broadcast Services from 1997 through 2000. In fact, fellow update anchor Steve Trevelise was his first boss in radio, bringing Joe on at Shadow for his first commercial gig! Because of a staffing shortage (or shortage of psychotic college grads willing to take dirt traffic shifts just to get on the radio, depending on who's telling the story), Joe's first ever shifts on radio ended up being 21 straight overnight traffic shifts on KYW News Radio, where he promptly was forced to invent 63,000 different ways to say, "the Schuylkill and 95 looking good through town." Joe also covered Eagles games for CBS sportsline in 1998 and 1999 and was the Public Address announcer for Villanova football in 1996 and 1997. Joe broadcast Villanova Football and Basketball on the student radio for 3 years as a student at Villanova, from where he graduated in 1995 with a degree in communications.
Full time, Joe is currently a Senior Seminar Leader for InterBay Funding, LLC, a wholesale commercial lender based in Fort Washington, PA. He travels the country delivering live seminars to crowds of residential mortgage brokers interested in expanding into the commercial market. As Joe puts it, the job is 10% teaching, 90% motivational speaker, and a 100% excercise in patience and restraint. You do the math. The travel involved with that positon has allowed him to see multiple sporting events in multiple venues in multiple towns. In fact, as Joe types this, he is getting ready to go see the Flyers play the Coyotes . . . in Phoenix! Finally, Joe enjoys typing about himself in the 3rd person.
